Dear All,
Days go by here
at the rescue center, turtles arriving by the bunch. We have now 21 turtles
split in 19 loggerheads and 2 greens.
On the 10th of
this months we has released "Theodora". She was fitted with a satellite
transmitter but she got too stressed so it was removed. She left from a
beach near Cape Sounion. Unfortunately she was stranded in Epidaure near
Corinth. She returned "home" safely and she is eating again. We found in her
faeces some fishng line and plastic amongst some sea grass. We are hoping to
see her off soon.
After Pavlouko, we
collected Odisseas, Samson (huge monster reaching 84,7cm curved carapace
length), Leonidas and Ikaros (entangled in fishing line and one flipper
about to fall off). Sad stories but all the volunteers are here to help them
get better.
We also
"released" Lauren to the real life. Safe travelling.
Beckie and Sarah
stayed over for 3 days on their return from "Kip" (Archelon project in
Kiparissia in the Peloponese). They gave us a hand to feed the turtles.
Thanks...
A few others stopped
on their way back home. Hi to Nicolas and Vanessa, it was was nice to have
you around. Next came Ben (Bin Ben) and Sabine from Gythio. They left me
some photos and music. Thanks loads for giving a hand.
Today, Theresa
arrived from Crete to complete the team. Welcome :)
Below you will find
some pictures of our patients :
